This event is FREE and Open to the Public

Angela Monet Maxson

Hello, My name is Angela Monet Maxson (Angela Monet). I was born and raised here in Stockton, CA. I have been working in healthcare for over 20 years, but in my spare time, I love to do all things art. I call it therapy, because of the joy it brings. I enjoy making greeting cards and doodling. I just started painting about four years ago, and I’m still learning new techniques. Painting was always a challenge before, but I think I have the hang of it. I love working with acrylic paints, watercolors, and alcohol ink sprays. In the near future, I hope to get a book published with my artwork. I hope that you enjoy my art, and if you would like to see more, feel free to browse through my social media sites:

Thank you!

Tuleburg Press is working to build literacy and writing confidence for all ages through book publishing, one-on-one mentoring, community outreach, and writing workshops.

Those activities occur at THE WRITE PLACE, a downtown Stockton creative writing and book arts center. Modeled after 826 Valencia in San Francisco, 916 Ink in Sacramento, and the San Francisco Center for the Book, THE WRITE PLACE teaches writing, bookbinding, and letterpress printing on vintage presses.

We see the center as a walking-distance friendly spot for students enrolled in the many downtown town schools, but it will offer creative writing and book arts workshops for writers of all ages.

Writing groups and book clubs will be able to use the space in the evenings. On weekends THE WRITE PLACE will host author readings and artists who teach paper making, book binding, and paper crafts of many kinds.

If you would like to be listed under "Art Instructors", send Jessica your information, before the 15th of previous month, to [email protected]
