Exhibitions

Stockton Art League exhibitions bring art to the public across San Joaquin County in a few different ways — from a national juried show at the Haggin Museum to regional open calls, a monthly artist spotlight, and shows just for our members. Here’s a look at what we do throughout the year.

Juried Shows

Our flagship juried exhibition is presented in partnership with the Haggin Museum in Stockton’s Victory Park. It’s a national, open-entry competition judged by a professional curator, with cash awards and merit recognition.

2026: the 63rd Annual National Juried Exhibition, running September 3 – October 25, 2026. This year’s juror is Francesca Wilmott, Curator at the Crocker Art Museum. Awards include the Ruby Zahn White Best of Show ($1,000), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($250), and additional merit awards. Open to U.S.-based artists working in all visual media, excluding video and installation art.

Established in 1951, the exhibition has grown into one of the region’s longest-running juried competitions for 2D and 3D work.

Open Calls

Several times a year we host open-call juried exhibitions at our own Elsie May Goodwin Gallery. These regional shows are open to artists throughout the area, with cash awards and merit recognition for standout work.

Open calls are a lower barrier to entry than our national show at the Haggin — a great way for artists at any stage to get their work in front of the public and a jury.

Featured Artist of the Month

Each month, we spotlight a member or local artist with a dedicated feature at the Goodwin Gallery and across our website and social media. It’s a chance for our community to get to know the people behind the work in greater depth.

Membership Shows

We hold six membership shows a year at the Goodwin Gallery, open exclusively to Stockton Art League members. These shows are one of the core benefits of membership — a regular, low-barrier opportunity to exhibit your work.
