Seeking New work at the Gallery

Dear Members and Incoming New Members,

I wanted to send out a quick note.

In order to maintain a safe environment and remain open at the Stockton Art League // Elise May Goodwin Gallery, we share the following:

Per the CDC and the state of CA it is being recommended that vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals wear masks indoors.

In an effort to continue to create a safe and healthy workplace, we encourage you, members, participants, and customers to wear masks while moving throughout the building, avoiding any further spread of COVID-19.
We are ready to receive new work for the August & September Membership show.

At this time, we will not require but encourage staffing of the gallery to show work. Staffing or alternative volunteer hours are also greatly appreciated. Most importantly we want to have your art available in public spaces.

Gallery viewing hours will be announced in an upcoming email. Indoor workshops and activities are currently on hold at this time.
  • Artists may bring up to 4 artworks.
  • Art Hanging fees are waived for 2021.
If unable to bring work at this time, please email me at [email protected]

I hope you are well and are continuing to create,

Jessica Fong
Executive Director

REMARKABLE Highlights

Let's give a round of applause for the Youth Art Program on a successful July series of full classes! A Welcome Back to our young artists.

We recognize the hard work of July instructors Sasi Sivaramakrishnan, Eliza Eberhardt, Stephen Coyle, Martha Sandler, Cecile Haynes, and Alicia Valenzuela plus volunteers Lynn Harriet and volunteer-coordinators Mary Little and Beatriz Flores for their dedicated commitment to encouraging creative learning for youth artists in Stockton and San Joaquin County.
The youngest group worked on highlights for night landscapes with Sasi.
Welcoming Eliza Eberhardt to the first day of class.
The teen group concentrating during a painting project, one of three classes in the series.
Stephen led a character development project with the artists challenge to express emotion with simple lines.
Alicia challenged the teen group to create a scene using just circles. Using only recycled bottle caps, they talked about sustainability and being resourceful.
