Feb 1st Evening:
After a long day of phone calls and emails, I am happy to inform you all with a new update regarding the vandalized and property damaged at 10:15pm on January 31.
New Updates:
1.) The temporary cardboard on the windows performed well into the morning until we could contact professional window repair services.
2.) Stockton Progressive Glass and team Kurt, Shawn, and crew were on location within 1.5 hours of calling. They were able to fit us in their business schedule with a double ply mounted boarding of the large window. They were able to remove the dangerous glass pieces and hall away the debris. (See photos)
3.) Based on the information from the glass company, we should be able to have a replacement installed in a few weeks which is much sooner that other suggested dates from other bids.
4.) No items were taken from the gallery. There are some artworks that were damaged such as books and cards. More details will be released and the artists will be notified. We are still working on this inventory.
5.) Joel Blum, Katelynn Castaneda, and myself finished cleaning the small debris of glass and mopping the floors. The January/ February installation will be arrange in its completion in the floor by Thursday afternoon.
5.) As of now, all activities will presume on schedule and as normal.
6.) We will update you if more information comes to light and ways that volunteers can help.
7.) I, personally, appreciate every one of your emails, phone calls, texts messages of support and recommendations to moving through this troublesome event. It is a community effort to illuminate the space as it is meant to be seen.
