President's Message
I’m continually delighted each and every time I enter our gallery. The art is ever changing in its range and impression. I always feel uplifted and inspired, as if the original threads of SAL’s founders continue to flow alive and well. The tradition of coming together as artists, creating and contributing generously to our community, is a privilege to be a part of.
As we all know, we “live in exciting times” and as your President, my intent is to honor our past and present, doing what is necessary alongside of you, our members, to insure a thriving and momentous future.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
Respectfully yours, Amy Baskerville

2nd Thursday Drawing Class with Raoul Mora
(formerly Demo Artist of the Month)
FEB 8, 3PM-5PM
Open to the Public and SAL members
FREE, Donations welcome
Basic Concepts of drawing are vital to every visual artistic medium. Therefore, SAL is happy to conduct its monthly drawing class with Raoul Mora. Mora brings his 39 years of experience as artist, teacher, and judge to the Stockton community at the Elsie May Goodwin Gallery.
The students will learn the basic concepts of contour drawing, sketching, and shading with black and white before going on to colored pencil. All artists should know the basic skills and this is a good place to learn or revisit them. Additionally the class is a great place to work with other artists for inspiration and encouragement. While the class only meets once a month with Raoul, additional time with a group can be had on the Tuesday Morning Open Studio from 10:00AM - 1:00PM where artists can learn and share with each other.
